The ACE team would like to take a moment and say thank you for your continued support in our Inhalant Abuse Prevention program. Your voice to this issue is invaluable!

We can report on the statistics, signs/symptoms provide materials and tips on how to talk to someone about the issue, but sharing a personal story really brings the issue to life. We thank you all for taking the time to type your story for our ACE blogs, commenting on our message board, emailing or calling with ideas to increase awareness of the issue, doing presentations in your communities, and participating in the development of our Parent Resource Network site.

'THUMBS UP' for the Holidays!

Did you know that car crashes are the No. 1 killer of teens according to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety? As the holidays approach NOYS is asking all drivers- young and old to refrain from text messaging while driving in an effort to reduce the number of unnecessary accidents, injuries, and deaths on America’s roadways.

For each person who joins the THUMBS UP FOR THE SAFEEST HOLIDAY EVER cause page on Facebook and pledges not to text and drive, Allstate will donate $1 to NOYS for teen safe driving programs, up to $25,000!

To date 5,145 people have pledged their support by visiting http://apps.facebook.com/causes/395301. The campaign period ends January 15, 2010 so be sure to lend your thumbs to this very important cause while you still can! Remember to keep your thumbs up and eyes on the road this holiday season.
